The Rebate Nobody's Chasing: Strata Solar Grants, and the One Reason Installers Skip Them
A live grant most installers have written off as "too hard" — and why that's the opening.

THE SOLAR AI
G'day ⚡
Quick question: when did you last quote a strata building?
For most installers the honest answer is "never" or "once, it went nowhere." And that's exactly why I'm opening this edition with it — because there's

⭐ GRANTS OPEN NOW
NSW — SoAR grant. Up to 50% of the system cost, capped at $150,000 per building, for apartment and multi-unit strata. Since it launched, it's approved 33 applications. Thirty-three. In a state full of apartment blocks. The queue is basically empty.
VIC — Solar for Apartments. Extended to 30 June 2027. Up to $2,800 per apartment or $140,000 per building (5–50 apartments, owners' corp, shared roof). Only ~2,650 apartments done so far — a rounding error against Victoria's apartment stock.

So why is the queue empty and how to benefit ?
Feature Story
📊 Applications now open until Tuesday 30 June 2027.

That's how Solar Victoria itself described strata solar. Not the panels. Not the roof. Getting enough owners to agree.
A strata deal means keeping 5, 20, 50 owners warm across a decision that takes months — through an owners' corporation meeting, split incentives between owners and renters, quotes, approvals. Miss a follow-up and the whole thing stalls.
Read that again, because it's the whole opportunity: the rebate opens the door, but follow-up is what walks the customer through it. Whoever can nurture a slow, multi-stakeholder decision without dropping the ball wins deals their competitors gave up on.
That's not a panel problem. That's a follow-up problem. And follow-up is the one thing we solve.
The Offer
🤖 The Solar AI Edge: Built for the Slow Close
Here's the division of labour that makes strata deals winnable:
AI handles the chase. Every enquiry answered in 60 seconds. Every owners'-corp contact tagged, sequenced, and followed up on a schedule — the reminder before the meeting, the recap after, the "have you had a chance to review the quote" that a busy human forgets to send. Nothing goes cold across a three-month decision.
Your team handles the room. You walk into the owners' corp meeting with every stakeholder already warmed up and informed — not starting from scratch each time.
AI at every step, human effort amplified. It's the difference between "strata is too hard" and "strata is our niche."
The Spotlight
⏳ And don't forget the clock on everything else

While strata is the fresh opening, the deadline under your whole commercial pipeline hasn't moved: STCs step down again on 1 January 2027.
A 99 kW system installed in 2026 → ~$25,000 in STC rebates at point of sale
The same system in 2027 → roughly $5,000 less
Stack the Instant Asset Write-Off and a $50K commercial system's true net cost drops further still
Commercial deals don't install overnight. A job signed in November is already tight for a 2026 install. Which means the real deadline for your pipeline is the next 8–12 weeks — strata included.
The Essentials

Record year for renewables.AEMO says FY25-26 was Australia's best ever for large-scale completions — 9.1 GW reached full output. Commercial appetite is real; the question is who captures it. | Feed-in tariffs collapsed on 1 July. ![]() Gif by pudgypenguins on Giphy AGL removed FITs entirely on standard contracts; EnergyAustralia cut NSW to 3c/kWh. Translation for your pitch: exporting solar is nearly worthless now — self-consumption and batteries are the whole story. Buildings and businesses with daytime load are the ideal customer. |
🎙️ Announcing: 5 Pilot Spots Before the Step-Down

Gif by Caltrain on Giphy
or the first time, I'm opening the 30-Day Pilot directly to newsletter readers — the same program I run privately for commercial installers.
What it is: One channel (Google Ads or LinkedIn), AI-targeted at the commercial and strata decision-makers most likely to convert. Landing page built. CRM wired. AI lead routing live. Nurture sequence running — the kind that keeps a slow strata decision moving. Weekly reporting. Live in Week 1.
What it costs: $3,500 + GST, one-off. Thirty days. Cancel anytime. No lock-in. At day 30 you see the numbers and decide.
Why now: A pipeline built in August closes in October and installs while the 2026 maths still favours your customer. November is too late.
Why only 5: We build and run every pilot personally. Five is what I can do properly this window.
We'll map your follow-up gap, run the rebate maths on your average job, and you decide. Doors close Friday 8 August or when the 5 spots fill — whichever comes first.
Full rebate breakdown + ROI numbers: REPLY REBATE
Before you go
Not ready for a call? Do this instead: hit reply and tell me your average response time to a new commercial enquiry. Honest answers only — I read every reply and I'll tell you exactly where you're leaking installs.
Next week: what happened when one installer stopped letting leads go cold. Same 5 spots, one week closer to the deadline.
P.S. If strata's new to you, don't try to figure out the grant paperwork solo — the follow-up engine matters more than the forms. Grab one of the 5 Pilot spots before Friday 8 August and we'll wire your pipeline to chase these deals for you.
